Taffy Apples


  • 2 cups sugar
  • ¼ cup corn syrup
  • ¼ cup Fancy Molasses
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 9-12 red apples
  • 9-12 wooden skewers
  • Red Coloring (Optional)


  1. Combine sugar, corn syrup, Fancy Molasses and water in a heavy 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until temperature reaches light crack stage (270°F). Remove from heat. Stir in coloring. Place skewers in apples and plunge into hot syrup. Remove quickly and twist until syrup covers the apples. Turn apples upside down to cool on greased tray.
