Steak or Veal Goulash


  • 1½ lbs veal or steak
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp celery salt
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 2½ cup tomatoes with juice
  • ¼ cup Fancy Molasses
  • 1 cup green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 3 carrots, diced


  1. Combine flour, salt, pepper and celery salt. Cut veal or steak into 1½" cubes. Coat meat with flour mixture. Brown meat on both sides in some hot butter or margarine. Remove meat from skillet, add 2 tablespoons of the flour mixture to the 2 tablespoons of butter and mix thoroughly. Add tomatoes, molasses, carrots, onion and green pepper. Return meat to skillet. Cover and simmer gently for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
