  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup Fancy Molasses
  • 2½ cups flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate pieces


  1. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time beating after each. Add Fancy Molasses and mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Add nuts and chocolate.
  2. Drop by teaspoons on greased baking sheet. Bake in 375°F oven about 10 minutes or until a bit brown.
